The Marlboro Institute for Liberal Arts & Interdisciplinary Studies honored students in spring 2024 at the end of the academic year, recognizing students for their achievements, which included Interdisciplinary Studies student awards and Honors thesis awards.

The 2024 School of Communication Student Awards occurred this spring and celebrated the close of an extraordinary academic year, as well as recognizing student achievements. This year's program was accompanied by a new component - the Student Scholars and Creators Showcase. Produced under guidance from Assistant Dean Lisa Wisman Weil, the showcase highlighted the work of nine students, who discussed their questions, findings, and creations with guests during the award program reception.

Emerson College students participated in Emerson Stage's production of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 from April 18-20 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston, MA. Written by Dave Malloy, directed by M. Bevin O'Gara, with music direction by Sariva Goetz and choreographed by Christopher Shin, The Great Comet is an electropop opera based on a portion of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace.

Emerson College students participated in NewFest Short Works 2024, a theater production featuring short plays written, directed, and performed by Emerson College Performing Arts students this past spring, from March 21-23 in the Semel Theatre in Boston, MA. The plays include Chekhov's Gun, Fluff, Cat's Out of the Bag, Approaching September First, Prune, Goose, Roadmap, Payphone, The Hotel Visitants, Hear Me Out, Don't Be a Stranger, and Until the Astroid Falls.

Emerson College students participated in the theater performance of Second Star to the Right, a NewFest 2024: Rod Parker Playwriting Fellowship Production this past spring from March 27-30 at the Greene Theatre in Boston. Written by Olivia Lindquist '27 and directed by Joe Antoun, the play is a spin on Peter Pan's tale.

Thirty-seven seniors were inducted into the Purple Key Leadership Society for the 2023-2024 academic year during the ERA (Emerson Recognition & Achievement) Awards ceremony on April 12. Purple Key recipients demonstrate exceptional leadership and service, a strong commitment to civic engagement, and solid academic achievement.

More than 100 seniors and juniors were inducted into Emerson's Gold Key Honor Society on April 3, 2024 in a ceremony in the Semel Theater located in Boston, Massachusetts. The Gold Key Honor Society is an interdisciplinary organization founded at Emerson in 1962 to "recognize and encourage outstanding academic achievement." Juniors in the top 5 percent of their class, and seniors in the top 10 percent of their class who have earned at least 48 credits are eligible.

Yasmin Defne Dadikhi '26 earned an All-Academic Individual Award from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for her combination of scholastic and placement in the top 35 at Regionals during the 2023 NCAA Division III cross country season. Additonally, the Emerson College Women's Cross Country Team earned National Academic Ratings for the 2023 NCAA DIvision III season. Announced by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the team placed 13th in the nation with a team GPA of 3.81.

Emerson College Men's Cross Country Team Earns All-Academic Team Honors for the 2023 NCAA DIvision III Cross Country season. Announced by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the team placed second in the nation with a team GPA of 3.768.

The Emerson College Women's Cross Country Team Earns National Academic Ratings for the 2023 NCAA DIvision III season. Announced by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the team placed 13th in the nation with a team GPA of 3.81.

The Emerson College Film Festival featured Lone Star by Sadie Sweitzer BFA'25, a film about a lone Texas cowboy and his trip to Paris where an unexpected meeting shows him that beauty can be found in unlikely places.

The 23rd Annual Emerson College Film Festival featured Robin by Tris Arthur BFA'23, a coming-of-age film about a teenager's search for their real identity.

The Emerson College Film Festival featured Graysen's Room by Lida Everhart BFA'24, showcasing Graysen's philosophy on art and creation from the comfort of their own room.

The Emerson College Film Festival recently featured Freddie by Maya Chang BFA '23, a film about a gazelle and his journey on searching for his lost hat and self-acceptance.

Emerson Stage members participated in the production of 16 Winters, or The Bear's Tale at the Greene Theater in Boston, MA from March 3-6t, 2024. Written by Mary Elizabeth Hamilton, and directed by Aneesha Kudtarkar, the play occurs during the 16-year-gap between acts one and two of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. It examines the effects of reimagining social constructs, and ponders whether something new can happen amidst repression.
