Mariana Caro Awarded Prestigious National Association of Hispanic Journalists Scholarship
Mariana Caro ('25) was awarded the Ruben Salazar Scholarship by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. The scholarship will allow Caro to travel to Chicago for the NAHJ Conference in July, where she can meet industry professionals, take workshops, and network with other journalists.

Emerson College Student Awarded the AAJA Vincent Chin Memorial Scholarship
Emerson College student Abigail Lee was awarded the AAJA Vincent Chin Memorial Scholarship. AAJA annually offers up to $20,000 in scholarships and grants to journalism students to help offset the costs of education, internships, living expenses and other opportunities.

Leeah Derenoncourt Named Frederick Douglass Global Fellow
This spring, Leeah Derenoncourt was selected as a 2021 Frederick Douglass Global Fellow. This honor awards Derenoncourt with a full scholarship to a study abroad program in Dublin, Ireland, where she will focus on leadership, intercultural communication, and social justice. Fellows were congratulated by Vice President Kamala Harris, Ireland's Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheal Martin, and Nettie Washington Douglass, the great-great-granddaughter of Frederick Douglass.

Emerson College Student Awarded 2019 Fulbright Scholarship
Emerson College senior Gabriela Mancuso was recently awarded the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship to Colombia, an award devoted to increasing mutual understanding between the U.S. and the people of other countries. She will travel to Colombia to teach English at National University.
