Emerson College Men's Basketball Wins First NEWMAC Championship, Advances to NCAA Tournament
The Emerson College Men's Basketball team won its first ever New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship on February 23, and advanced on the to round one of the NCAA Division III tournament.

Emerson College student, James Manley of Cypress, Texas, was honored with the 2017-18 Queer Foundation Publication Award for Young Scholars, and was one of six students nation-wide awarded with scholarship support for their essay submission.

Emerson College 2017 Commencement Ceremonies
On Sunday, May 14, Emerson College awarded more than 900 undergraduate degrees and nearly 270 graduate degrees during the College's Commencement ceremonies. Bestselling novelist and TV writer Dennis Lehane received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree and delievered the undergraduate commencement address. Associate Professor Emeritus John Dennis Anderson, who retired last summer after teaching in Emerson's Communication Studies Department for 27 years, gave the graduate address.
