West Springfield's Ariana Sandillo Participates in Emerson College's Washington, D.C. Internship Program

2012 Oct 10

West Springfield's Ariana Sandillo, a Broadcast Journalism student at Emerson College, is spending the semester living and working in Washington, D.C. at the Public Broadcasting Service. The internship is part of Emerson's School of Communication's affiliation with The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars.

Qualified juniors and seniors enroll for one semester of study (fall term only) at Emerson's Washington, D.C. Program, and are housed six blocks north of the White House along with students from other national and international colleges. Using Washington, D.C. as a laboratory for learning, the program supports the theory-practice mission of the School of Communication's Department of Communication Studies. Although Washington, D.C. is the center of politics, the city is also home to entertainment, corporate, governmental, civic, and educational organizations, all of which seek to have their voices heard.
