West Chester's Wynn Harrison Chosen to Choreograph Emerson Stage Production, X Dance

West Chester's Wynn Harrison, a senior Political Communications major at Emerson College selected to choreograph Emerson dance concert, X Dance, which will bring grace, agility, and beauty to the stage on its February 9 premiere. Chosen by Artistic Director and Dancer-In-Residence in Emerson's Department of Performing Arts Marlena Yannetti, Harrison is joined by four other student choreographers enrolled in Yannetti's Dance Composition course, which stirs the discovery, development, and exploration of their own movement and imagery. X Dance runs through February 12 at Emerson's Greene Theater (10 Boylston Place, Boston, 6th Floor).

Tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for the Emerson community.

About Marlena Yanetti

Marlena Yannetti has taught at Emerson College for nearly 30 years and has appeared in the Broadway and national touring companies of The Unsinkable Molly Brown and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and at the Shubert Theatre in NYC in Talent '61. She was an original tribe member and Dance Captain of Hair at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston. She was a member of the Matt Mattox Concert Dance Company. She appeared in the first touring company of West Side Story and in several seasons of summer stock. Her choreography has been seen at the Sanders Theatre in The Unicorn, the Gorgon and the Manticore with Boston Cecelia, at the Charlestown Working Theatre in Scott Wheeler's The Construction of Boston and in A Girl's Guide to the Devine Comedy at the Boston Center for the Arts. She was movement consultant for Tell Me on a Sunday at the 57 Theatre in Boston. In spring of 2008, Ms Yannetti was choreographer for the feature film, Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past, starring Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey.
