Port Jefferson's Sean Swords in Emerson Stage Production of The Grapes of Wrath at Emerson College

2012 Oct 17

Port Jefferson resident Sean Swords, majoring in Stage Management at Emerson College, is part of Emerson Stage's production of The Grapes of Wrath as Assistant Production Supervisor. In this adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by John Steinbeck, the Joad family has lost everything: their home, livelihood, dignity, and nearly all hope for a better future. With what little remains, the family leaves the Dust Bowl fields of Oklahoma for the fertile lands promised in California. Expecting the land of milk and honey, the Joads face further disillusionment, exploitation, and a lack of resources at the hands of big business and corrupt authorities.

Emerson's production is directed by Maureen Shea, and will run from October 18 through October 21 in the Semel Theater (10 Boylston Place, Boston) at Emerson College. Tickets are $12 for general audiences and $8 for the Emerson community.
