Newtown's Devynne Lauchner Participating in Emerson College's Los Angeles Internship Study Program

2014 Apr 4

Emerson College student Devynne Lauchner of Newtown, who's majoring in Film Production, secured an internship position in January 2014 at Mad Men (Art/Props). Lauchner will complete the internship study program at the end of April 2014.

The internship is part of the experience at Emerson's Los Angeles Centera?"the College's new facility on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Emerson has had an internship study program in Los Angeles for more than 27 years. Undergraduates pursuing careers in television, film, marketing, acting, screenwriting, and journalism attend for one semester, usually in their senior year.

Emerson Los Angeles (ELA) features innovative amenities designed to provide students with the opportunity to engage creatively onsite. The 10-story sustainable facility includes residential space for 217 students, wired classrooms, an open-air screening and live-performance space, a Dolby Surround 7.1 audio post-production suite, computer labs, mixing suites, and a green screen motion capture stage.

The College has begun developing academic programs beyond the existing undergraduate internship program that will extend the ELA experience to students studying in any of the seven disciplines that Emerson offers. Additionally, ELA will offer post-graduate, certificate, and professional study programs. The new facility will also host workshops, lectures, and other events to engage with alumni (approximately 4,000 living in the LA area) and the LA community.
